Exotic Pets Outnumber

Dogs & Cats

How many people do you know that have a bird, ferret, rabbit, or reptile?

Well, the fact is more people own exotic pets than dogs and cats!  Pet birds

such as parakeets, parrots, and canaries are common.  Some of these birds are

extremely intelligent and can live a very long time.  For example, an African

Grey parrot can learn hundreds of words and songs, and have a life span of

60 years!

Many people have pet ferrets.  They are entertaining to watch playfully stealing things twice their size to drag them into their cage.

Reptiles, frogs, and fish have always fascinated people and are a great hobby.  Cages can be made to look like the animal’s natural habitat, such as a jungle for an iguana.

Each exotic pet has specific requirements to keep them happy and healthy.  It is important to get the latest information on how to care for your exotic pets.  The goal of this newsletter is to offer information on housing, diets, safe activities and health care for exotic pets.

Ferrets

There is no question that ferrets are FUN!…

But are they difficult pets to take care of?

Not really. Having a ferret is like having a puppy that never grows up.
